On a very muddy and icy course, a large contingent from Herne Hill Harriers made their way to Hillingdon to compete against clubs from the whole of the South of England. Against some very strong opposition Herne Hill did quite well, we nearly had a team in every age group.
The U17 boys needed one more runner to have a full team, Samuel Woods finished 84th in 23:48, Henry Sutcliffe finished 134th with a time of 25:17 and Nathan Stone finished 175th, his time was 29:24.
In the U15 boys' race, Lewis Lloyd had a great run and finished 7th in 15:09, Billy Holmes finished 135th with a time of 17:27, Daniel Wilmott finished 169th with a time of 17:52. Joe Kidson finished 199th in 18:32, I finished 212th in 18:49, Jamal Langley finished 231st with a time of 19:41 and Alex Thompson finished 242nd in 20:37. The team came 25th.
The U13 boys needed another runner to have a full team, but Lascelles Hussey finished an impressive 34th in 12:50, Michael Brown finished 139th with a time of 13:59 and Ian Souttar finished 239th with a time of 17:26.
The U17 women had a strong team and finished 4th, just missing out on a medal. Hannah Edwards finished a very respectable 26th in 25:14, Julia Wedmore finished 36th in 25:53, Avril Robinson finished 69th with a time of 27:30 and was closely followed by Lara Gibson in 72nd in 27:39.
In the U15 girls Maisie Hilliare finished 89th in 17:13, Tamsin Cornelius finished 177th in 19:06 just ahead of Leilah Abandah who finished 178th with a time of 19:08 and Jessie Quartey-Pigott finished 189th with a time of 19:33. The team finished 25th.
In the U13 girls' race Alex West finished a satisfying 36th in 14:03, Ashleigh Campbell finished 85th with a time of 14:53, Georgie Hay, Charlotte Scott and Billie Barbour finished closely together in 102nd, 107th, 112th in times of 15:11, 15:14 and 15:17. Francesca Meade finished 125th with a time of 15:29 and Clemmie Hilliare finished 168th in 16:25. The team finished 11th.
It was a good day overall for Herne Hill Harriers.
